The Sahara main body is supplied as a MIG welded fully assembled structure, comprising of a roll cage fitted with galvanised steel panels, and side hinged tailgate with provision to fit the Discovery spare wheel carrier.  If the optional doors are required, they must be ordered at the same time as the kit.

Alloy Chequer plate is supplied as shown, including wing tops. Load area and rear step.  All the panels are galvanised or Aluminium and pre-fitted including inner wheel arches. A substantial rear bumper and side steps are all integral within the frame.

It is pre-drilled and bracketed for chassis mounts, spare wheel and seat belts etc. The Sahara has the provision for bonding in a laminated windscreen, roof and rear cab window.

The front end consists of a Defender bonnet and wings, mounted on a steel inner frame incorporating galvanised inner wheel arches and substantial tubular bumper, all as one piece ready to bolt to the Discovery Chassis.

The battery mounting, radiator top mounting and header tank mounting are all supplied, including every nut and bolt needed where the original is not used.

Excluding any repair required to the donor vehicle, it is possible to build the Sahara without any requirement for welding.

All metal work is supplied self colour and therefore will require painting.

The tailgate is left blank to allow your own choice of lights and placement, while at the front a standard Defender grille and light surrounds can be fitted.  Most of the after-market Defender grille and light surrounds can be adapted to fit also.

Simple sliding windows can be fitted to the optional doors, utilising the rubber window channel from the Discovery doors.  If in good order the donor’s door seals can be re-used, and it is even possible to refit the original carpet in the cab.
